Author Festival, October 17th
This year we will welcome Erik Brooks to our school as part of the Humboldt County Author’s Festival. Please contact Sharyn Swartz if you would like to help set up or clean up lunch for our author and teachers. Erik Brooks is an author and illustrator and his artwork is on display at the Morris Graves Museum. Children are free at the museum with an adult admission.
Our Annual Halloween Party is on Friday Evening, Oct. 25!
Parents Grades 1-5: please sign up to help run a booth (Sign-up sheet attached – email the office at office.unionstreet@gmail.com or sign-up on porch by 1st grade room).
Kindergarten parents: Enjoy the carnival with your children; you can help in future years!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
7:00: Student costume parade (no costumes during school day)
7:05: Students sing a special Halloween Song for the parents!
7:15 – 8:15: Carnival games, Haunted “Bizarre”, and eating (playground closed!)
8:15: Clean up
Please bring finger foods, treats, or drinks for the food table!
We encourage a Half Day for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. Those who must stay after 1:00 will be combined in one or two classrooms for quiet school activities. Other classrooms will be under construction for the carnival.
Aluminum Cans Needed
Please save aluminum non-alcoholic drink cans for our annual Can Smash during the Halloween Party. We would like cans to be brought in the week of October 21st. Please rinse out cans.
